Characters with an inner life

I build conversational AI — characters and chatbots that notice you, hold a mood, and don’t always say what they feel.

the thinking only gets the signal — never the whole feeling

watch what it feels before it decides to speak

I build characters that aren't on rails. Most game NPCs — and most chatbots — wait for the right prompt and hand you the canned line. Mine have something going on underneath: a feeling they don't always say out loud. They can be caught off guard, hold back, or just go quiet. Most of what they feel you never see, which is exactly why the part they do show lands.

It's a writing problem before it's an engineering one.

Underneath it is real conversational AI, and it's the same work whether it's a character in a game or a bot that talks to people. I write who someone is and what moves them; the model makes them tick. Getting it to talk is easy. Getting it to hold back is the hard part.

Where it's at, honestly

The brain runs today — I've been talking to these characters in a sandbox and wiring them into a game. The part I can't wait to build: an inner life that keeps going even when you're not around — they've been somewhere, felt something, while you were gone.

What it's good for

If you want a character with a pulse, or a bot that feels like someone instead of a form, this is the thing I'm best at. Try the sandbox above — poke the character and watch what surfaces before it speaks.
